The Johnstown Mill Rats are owned by Johnstown Family Entertainment, LLC. The principals of Johnstown Family Entertainment are also the principals of National Sports Services (NSS). As is the case with other teams operated by NSS, It is the goal of Johnstown Family Entertainment to add local partners to the ownership group.
NSS (nsssports.com), founded in 1998, provides extensive services to the sports industry, including franchise sales and acquisition, franchise management and consulting, facility marketing, venue development and facility management. The principals of NSS have over 60 years of experience in the successful development and operation of professional sports franchises and facilities.
The breadth of the NSS experience with team operations includes staffing and training, ticket and sponsorship sales, venue and game day management, food and beverage operations, merchandising, accounting and analytics, community and media relations, marketing, League relations, customer service, stadium operations, player development and landlord relations.
Event management includes the scheduling and operations of events which routinely attract thousands of consumers, including professional baseball, hockey, indoor football, All Star Games, amateur and collegiate tournaments, concerts, assemblies, corporate outings, meetings, circuses, carnivals and any number of additional, spectator gatherings.

In addition to Johnstown, the principals of NSS have ownership interest in Lafayette (IN) Aviators of the Prospect League and the Gastonia (NC) Grizzlies and the Wilmington (NC) Sharks of the Coastal Plain League. The firm also oversees the day to day operation of the Kansas City T-Bones of the American Association.
