The Johnstown Mill Rats are pleased to announce that Parker Lynn has been promoted to Director of Baseball Operations. Lynn served as the field manager during the teams’ inaugural 2021 season and will return to the field again in 2022.
“Parker did a great job building a team from the ground up,” said Mill Rats Co-Owner Bill Davidson. “It’s never easy to recruit an entire roster of players for an expansion team. We started slow, but by the end of the year had one of the best teams in the league.”
After leading the Ohio River Valley Division for most of the second half of the season, the Mill Rats finished one game behind the Chillicothe Paints for the division title and a shot at the Prospect League Championship.
“I am very excited to be returning to Johnstown to serve my second season as Field Manager for the Mill Rats,” said Lynn. “I am also extremely fortunate to be serving the organization in the role of Director of Baseball Operations to further the success of the Mill Rats. The vision the organization has to bring success to Johnstown is one that I am excited to be a part of in a bigger capacity.”
Lynn is currently an Assistant Coach at Seton Hill University. A resident of Greensburg, Lynn played one season at California (PA) before an injury ended his career. He remained on the coaching staff at Cal until he earned his bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies in 2018. Lynn then spent one season as an assistant at West Liberty (WV) before completing a two-year stint at Gardner Webb University as the Director of Baseball Operations for the Bulldogs. He earned a master’s degree in sport education from Gardner Webb in 2021.
