JOHNSTOWN, PA – The Johnstown Mill Rats are hosting a Major League Baseball Jr. Home Run Derby at Point
Stadium on Saturday, June 10 beginning at 10:00. This is a fun, FREE event for baseball and
softball players.
Winners from the MLB Jr Home Run Derby hosted by the Mill Rats will advance to the regional
qualification round hosted by the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. The regional
winners advance to the national finals at the MLB All-Star Game
For baseball and softball players there are two age groups 12 & under and 14 & under. The cut
off date for participation is the age of the participant as of July 20, 23.
Each athlete will have 25 swings or 3 minutes to hit as many homeruns as possible, whichever
comes first. There will be two (2) rounds where top four (4) participants in each age group from
the first-round advance to the final round.
