STREAK REACHES THREE AS PAINTS DOWN RATS 12-6

The Johnstown Mill Rats’ losing streak reached three games following a 12-6 loss to the Chillicothe Paints Monday at VA Memorial Stadium.

The Mill Rats took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first and led 4-3 after four.  But Chillicothe proceeded to outscore Johnstown 9-2 the rest of the way for the win.

Gustavo Gonzalez and Brady Gavula each had two hits and each drove in a run for Johnstown.  Zach McEllroy was 3-for-5 at the plate and drove in a pair of runs.

Carter Hire and Jeremy Delamota each had 3 hits for the Paints.

Fabian Morales fell to 2-2 with the loss allowing 6 runs on 5 hits over 4.1 innings.

The Paints’ Zane Vitense earned the win to improve to 2-1.

Johnstown next travels to Champion City for a double-header against the Kings Tuesday beginning at 5:35pm.
