Tyler Sullivan


Tyler Sullivan has been named the Mill Rats Field Manager for the 2022 season. A native of Cleveland, OH, Sullivan is currently the Hitting Coach for Seton Hill University (D2) in Greensburg, PA. He is also an alumni of the Prospect League, playing two seasons for the Butler Blue Sox in 2015-16.

Sullivan began his playing career at the University of Evansville (IN), spending two seasons there before transferring to Seton Hill University for the remaining three years of his collegiate career. Sullivan was part of a Seton Hill team that won back-to-back PSAC Conference Championships in 2017 and 2018, along with being named 2018 PSAC Tournament MVP. He graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, and an MBA in Management, both from Seton Hill University.

After completing his playing career, Sullivan began his coaching tenure with his alma mater. In his three years as an Assistant Coach, Seton Hill has compiled an 80-32 record, capped off with a D2 College World Series appearance in the 2021 season. Sullivan has been at the helm of an offense that has consistently ranked in the top of the conference, with multiple draft picks and All-American selections. In addition, he coached former Mill Rat, Owen Sabol, in route to his 2021 PSAC Rookie of the Year selection.

Stephen Wagner

Pitching Coach

Stephen Wagner will be the Mill Rats Pitching Coach for the 2022 Season. Native to Las Vegas, Wagner currently holds the position of Pitching Coach for Dawson Community College in Glendive, Montana.

Wagner attended Boulder City High School where he pitched and played shortstop. In 2016, he lead Boulder City to a state championship season in which he boasted a 13-1 record with a 1.80 ERA. Wagner continued his success at the collegiate level attending Kutztown University from 2017-2021. After starting his freshman year, Wagner was forced to have Tommy John Surgery. He returned as a starter for his Senior season in 2021 and graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. 

Along with a degree and years of baseball experience, Wagner is also certified in Driveline Foundations of Pitching and Driveline Basics of Pitch Design. The use of this and other new age technology allows Wagner to analyze and  maximize individual player growth. Wagner has previous coaching experience as the Head Coach for the 16U Boulder City Eagles and the Pitching Coach for the NTXBC Dirtbags in Dallas, TX. The team saw major improvements in all pitching statistical categories under Wagner while competing in tournaments across the country.
