JOSH MERRILL HEADSHOT

Josh Merrill

Manager

The Mill Rats are excited to announce the hiring of Josh Merrill as the 3rd Manager in franchise history!  Merrill will begin his tenure in Johnstown in 2024.

Josh is currently the head coach at North Iowa Area Community College and will begin his second season at the helm of the Trojans in 2023-2024.

Merrill said, “I am excited to come to a great baseball city like Johnstown.  I placed several players in the Prospect League over the years, and I have followed Johnstown since their first season in 2021.  I’m happy to come to town, and to bring an exciting brand of baseball to the Mill Rats fans.”

Merrill is a native of Wichita, Kansas, and played collegiately at Neosho County CC, as well as Arkansas-Little Rock, and King University, where he was a right-handed pitcher.

Before landing the head coaching position at NIACC, Merrill served as an assistant coach at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas, and one season at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville.

Merrill graduated from King University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2015 and from Oklahoma State University with a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration in 2019.
