The Johnstown Mill Rats claimed the first-half Prospect League Eastern Conference Northeast Division title and will now host the Northeast Division championship game on August 1, 2025 at Sargent’s Stadium at The Point.
Johnstown’s game was rained out at Champion City on Thursday, but due to the 9-7 loss by the Lafayette Aviators, the Mill Rats won the division based on winning percentage with two games remaining in the first half which ends today (Friday). Lafayette has only one game remaining on their first half schedule and can no longer mathematically win or tie Johnstown for the title.
The Mill Rats are on pace to finish the first half with their best half-season record in team history. Johnstown could finish the first half with 18 wins. The previous high of 17 wins in a half-season has occurred twice in 2021 and again in 2022. The team currently sits at 16-8.
Johnstown will host the Northeast Division Championship Game against the second half division winner on Friday, August 1, 2025 at a time to be determined.
The Mill Rats will close out the league’s first half with a double-header scheduled against the Hoots in O’Fallon, MO today (Friday) beginning at 5:35pm.
